Biography

Ruchi Shah, MD, received her bachelor’s degree in biological sciences and biology summa cum laude at the University of Illinois at Chicago and completed her medical degree in the College of Medicine at the same institution. She finished ophthalmology residency training at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois, where she received the Outstanding OKAPS Score Award-Glaucoma and the Magis Star for outstanding patient service and care at Loyola Hospital. She went on to complete fellowship training in glaucoma at the University of Illinois at Chicago and is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Shah has presented nationally, and her research has been published in the Journal of Cataract and Refractory Surgery and Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging Retina. She is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Glaucoma Society. In addition to practicing at the Robert Cizik Eye Clinic, she sees patients in clinic at Harris Health Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital.
