Drs. Kozman and Duong take first and second prizes at the TSEPS annual meeting

The 2025 Texas Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons held its annual meeting March 21-22 in Houston. The Ruiz Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston hosted this educational event. In 2011, the TSEPS Foundation established the Barry Uhr, MD, Memorial Prize in Comprehensive Ophthalmology to memorialize Dr. Uhr, former TSEPS president. Since then, each year, outstanding ophthalmologists-in-training from all over Texas present research projects to a voting audience for the Barry Uhr, MD, Memorial Prize. Two of our residents took top honors:

First Prize: Mena Kozman, MD
“Supplemental Oxygen Use in Ophthalmic Surgery”

Second Prize: Anne Duong, MD
“Subsequent Trabeculectomy After Ab Externo XEN”
