Rehal Bhojani, MD, is an associate professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. He also serves as program director of the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at McGovern Medical School and medical director of the Master of Athletic Training Program at the University of Houston.
Board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, Dr. Bhojani holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and is dedicated to advancing the field of sports medicine through both clinical care and academic leadership.
Dr. Bhojani earned his Bachelor of Science in molecular and cellular biology from The University of Texas at Dallas. He received his medical degree with distinction in research from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He then completed his internship and residency in the Memorial Family Medicine Residency Program in Houston, where he served as chief resident. Following residency, he pursued a primary care sports medicine fellowship training at Henry Ford Health in Detroit, Michigan.
In his clinical practice, Dr. Bhojani provides comprehensive care for patients six and older. His interests include concussion management, exercise prescription, chronic disease management, preventive medicine, and non-operative treatment of musculoskeletal injuries. He emphasizes injury prevention and personalized care to help patients return safely to activity and maintain long-term health.
Dr. Bhojani serves as chief medical officer of the Houston Dynamo and Houston Dash and as a team physician for the Houston Rockets, Sugar Land Space Cowboys, University of Houston, and East Bernard High School. He also oversees Sports Medicine Outreach for Memorial Hermann Health System, where he advances community engagement and athlete safety across the Greater Houston area.
