Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship Program
About Our Program
The Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship Program is a collaboration between the McGovern Medical School’s Department of Family & Community Medicine and Department of Orthopedic Surgery.
McGovern Medical School is a part of The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth).
We provide service to patients of diverse cultural, ethnic and economic backgrounds while teaching fellows. We emphasize treating all patients with dignity regardless of the patient’s background.
The mission of the PCSM Fellowship is to train the best future sports medicine physicians to have the skills to care for the whole person, their family and community.
A university-based setting allows the physician to learn negotiation and administrative skills. These will allow them to facilitate teams throughout their career.
The diversity and flexibility of the PCSM Fellowship Program educational experience provides future sports medicine physicians with the knowledge and skills to succeed regardless of the path they choose to follow.
