Developing into a skilled team physician is a major priority of the program. Team physician assignments include high school, collegiate, and professional teams:

• MLS Houston Dynamo
• University of Houston
• High School Football Teams

The fellows’ team physician responsibilities include, but are not limited to preseason and in-season evaluation of athletes, on-field management of emergent and non-emergent injuries, and the development of leadership skills necessary to be a successful team physician. Each fellow is assigned a high school and serves as the primary provider throughout the year under the supervision of an attending physician. Attendance at professional and collegiate home events with faculty allows for real life game experience and decision making on multiple levels of play. Travel to NFL and collegiate away games in addition to the NFL Combine are unique experiences most fellows participate in.
