Cardiovascular and Thoracic Pathology Fellowship
Our Cardiovascular and Thoracic Pathology Fellowship, led by Dr. Navneet Narula, MD, is a one-year program that provides comprehensive training in both cardiovascular and thoracic pathology. Fellows will be exposed to a diverse range of cases, including neoplastic and non-neoplastic pathology, along with heart and lung transplants, and will have opportunities for interaction at the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
Fellow Training Overview:
- Fellows will prepare and sign out thoracic and cardiovascular cases daily with faculty supervision.
- Oversee the grossing of heart and lung explants, as well as lung resections for cancer.
- Participate in the autopsy service and serve as clinical instructors for residents on the autopsy rotation.
- Engage in research projects throughout the fellowship.
- Take on progressively more responsibility with the goal of reaching independent sign-out under attending oversight by the end of training.

Our cardiovascular, thoracic and autopsy pathologists are dedicated to fellow education with daily sign-out, regular didactic sessions and multidisciplinary conferences.

- Fellows must be board certified or board-eligible in either Anatomic and Clinical Pathology or Anatomic Pathology.
- Fellows must be eligible to obtain a Texas Medical License.
