Become an IMPACT Medical Student Mentor

Are you a McGovern Medical School student interested in mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals? Join IMPACT (Inspiring Medicine, Professionalism, and Community Transformation) as a Medical Student Mentor!

IMPACT is a five-day summer program hosted by the McGovern Medical School Office of Professionalism that introduces high school students to medicine through hands-on learning, physician-led sessions, medical simulation, and professional development. As a mentor, you will help students explore careers in healthcare, navigate their questions about the path to medicine, and build confidence in their academic and professional goals.

What Does an IMPACT Mentor Do?

  • Mentor high school students as they explore healthcare careers and consider their future pathways.
  • Share your journey and offer insight into your experiences as a medical student.
  • Support hands-on learning and engage students in program activities and discussions.
  • Encourage professional growth by modeling communication, leadership, and professionalism.

Who Can Apply?

This opportunity is open to current McGovern Medical School students who are passionate about mentorship, education, and expanding access to healthcare career exploration.
