  • How are students selected?
    • Students are selected through a holistic application review process. We consider each applicant’s interest in healthcare and medicine, personal experiences, commitment to learning and service, and responses to the application questions. We are looking for students who are curious, engaged, and eager to make the most of the IMPACT experience.
  • When should I apply?
    • We encourage students to submit their applications early! Students who submit a completed application by December 1, 2026 will be considered for IMPACT’s limited full-tuition scholarship opportunities. Applications submitted after December 1 may still be considered for admission, but will not be eligible for scholarship consideration.
  • When will decisions be released?
    • February 1, 2027

  • How much is the deposit?
    • $400
  • Is the deposit refundable?
    • No
  • Are payment plans available?
    • Payment plans are not routinely available. However, we understand that circumstances may vary and will consider payment arrangements on a case-by-case basis. Please contact Megan Hill at [email protected] to discuss your situation.
  • Are scholarships available?
    • Yes. IMPACT will offer a limited number of full scholarships covering the $1,200 program cost. Scholarship opportunities include Financial Assistance Scholarships for students who demonstrate financial need and UTHealth Houston Affiliation Scholarships for students with a qualifying UTHealth Houston connection. Students may apply for consideration for one or both opportunities through the IMPACT application. Scholarship availability is limited, and submitting a scholarship request does not negatively affect a student’s admission decision.

Student Experience

  • Does my student need prior healthcare experience?
    • No
  • Will students receive scrubs?
    • Yes, each student will receive 1 pair of scrubs
  • What should students wear?
    • Students should wear comfortable, professional attire appropriate for a medical school environment and hands-on activities.
  • What should they bring?
    • Students should bring a refillable water bottle, a notebook and pen, and any personal items they may need throughout the day. Additional information about what to bring will be provided to accepted students before the program.
  • Are meals provided?
    • Yes, breakfast and lunch will be provided each day of the program.
  • How does transportation work?
    • Students and families are responsible for transportation to and from UTHealth McGovern Medical School each day. IMPACT does not provide transportation to or from the program. Specific parking, drop-off, and pick-up information will be provided to accepted students before the program.
