Biography

Woihwan “Woi” Kim, MD, is board-certified in general surgery and fellowship-trained in colorectal surgery. He’s currently an assistant professor of surgery. His clinical interests include colon and rectal cancer, diverticulitis, inflammatory bowel disease, and anorectal pathologies. He helps his patients understand their medical problems, lab tests, and imaging so that they can be advocates for themselves.

After graduating from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 2017, he completed residency training in general surgery in 2023 at Albany Medical Center in New York. He completed fellowship training in colon and rectal surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston in 2024.

Outside of work, Kim enjoys spending time with his wife and son, reading, exploring outdoor recreation, PC gaming, and being involved with his church family.
