Biography

Dr. Tarek Zaghloul is a compassionate and skilled, fellowship-trained breast surgeon specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of benign and malignant breast conditions. After completing his surgical residency, Dr. Zaghloul pursued a surgical oncology fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he focused on breast cancer management and advanced surgical techniques. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.

Dr. Zaghloul sees patients at the Memorial Hermann Cancer Center and UT Physicians Bellaire Station Clinic, and performs surgeries at Memorial Hermann–Texas Medical Center. He provides advanced surgical care as part of a multidisciplinary breast cancer team. His clinical interests include oncoplastic breast surgery, skin-sparing and nipple-sparing mastectomies, and the management of high-risk breast lesions. He is an active member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons and the Society of Surgical Oncology.

Dr. Zaghloul is deeply committed to patient-centered care and guides his patients through every step of their treatment journey. He views each patient as family and believes that the best outcomes are achieved through trust, compassion, and shared decision-making, prioritizing both the physical and emotional well-being of his patients.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Zaghloul is involved in clinical research. He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles focused on optimizing surgical outcomes and improving quality of life for patients undergoing breast cancer treatment. He serves as a reviewer for several international scientific journals. In 2019, he received the prestigious Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) International Fellowship award and has served as a member of the UICC Fellowship Committee since 2024. He has also contributed multiple book chapters on breast surgery and breast cancer management.

Beyond his clinical and academic work, Dr. Zaghloul has a strong interest in global healthcare. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis, swimming, and spending time outdoors.
