Biography

Dr. Marianne Cusick earned an undergraduate degree at Georgia Institute of Technology, a Master’s in public health-epidemiology at the University of Alabama-Birmingham, and a medical degree at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta. She completed her residency in general surgery and a research fellowship at the University of Alabama-Birmingham, followed by a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at McGovern Medical School.

Board-certified in both colon and rectal surgery and general surgery, Dr. Cusick treats patients of all ages. Her clinical interests include colon cancer screening, benign and malignant conditions of the colon, rectum and anus as well as pelvic floor disorders, inflammatory bowel disease, minimally invasive surgery and treatment of incontinence. She is also involved in surgical education and research.

Author of a number of medical articles and book chapters, Dr. Cusick has presented scientific research regionally and nationally. She is a member of the American College of Surgeons, American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, the Texas Medical Association, the Texas Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and the Harris County Medical Society.
