Core Laboratories and Research Centers
UTHealth Core Laboratories: UTHealth encourages the development of collaborative research among faculty. To this end, UTHealth has enabled academic departments, schools, and the university itself to establish fee-for-service research service centers (“RSC”), and other research facilities and services for specific purposes in pursuit of these missions. These UTHealth Core Laboratories offer services ranging from atomic force microscopy to cancer genomics.
Center for Membrane Biology: Faculty members associated with the Center for Membrane Biology utilize multidisciplinary approaches including biophysical and spectroscopic methods to elucidate the molecular structure and function of membrane proteins in normal and diseased conditions.
Structural Biology Imaging Center: Faculty members use their investigative tools to determine the three-dimensional structures of biological molecules and their assemblies to provide key structural information that guides research efforts to elucidate functional mechanisms. The Cryo-EM Core Facility is operated within the SBIC. Click Here to view a video that describes the instrumentation and capabilities of the Structural Biology Imaging Center.
