Advanced Heart Failure Patient Assistance Program

Join us in making a life-changing impact through UTHealth Houston’s new Advanced Heart Failure Patient Assistance Program.

Our mission is simple: No one with heart and lung disease should go without treatment because of their inability to pay. Heart disease continues to be the leading cause of death in the United States. Treatments for lung disease, including complex structural procedures, advanced medical therapies, and cutting-edge surgical interventions, can offer life-saving solutions for patients and their families. However, the cost of these treatments can be overwhelming, often placing a significant financial burden on those in need.

Our goal is to serve as a critical safety net for patients living with chronic heart or lung diseases, ensuring they receive the care they need.

About our Patient Assistance Program

Victoria’s Story: From Heart Attack to Heart Transplant – Brave Mother’s Extraordinary Journey to Reunite with Son and Family

At UTHealth Houston, we understand the financial burdens associated with managing chronic heart and lung diseases. To support patients and families facing high medical out-of-pocket costs, we have established the Advanced Heart Failure Patient Assistance Program. This program provides vital financial assistance for co-payments, co-insurance, deductibles, and other health-related expenses for patients undergoing care at our Center for Advanced Cardiopulmonary Therapies and Transplantation.

Application Process

To ensure that our resources reach those who need them most, we have implemented a simple online application process. Individuals seeking assistance can submit their application, providing details about their medical condition, financial situation, and the specific assistance they require. As part of the application process, patients are also required to identify a treating advanced heart failure physician who is affiliated with UTHealth Houston. This step ensures that our program aligns with the patient’s ongoing care plan and medical needs.

How Your Support Makes a Difference
