Biography

Dr. Aamir Shah is an Associate Professor in the Department of Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. A highly accomplished cardiothoracic and vascular surgeon, Dr. Shah brings extensive experience in the management of complex aortic, cardiac, and vascular disease.

He is recognized for his expertise in advanced surgical techniques for thoracic and abdominal aortic pathology, as well as minimally invasive and hybrid approaches to cardiovascular disease. His clinical practice emphasizes patient-centered care, surgical innovation, and multidisciplinary collaboration to achieve the best outcomes for patients with high-risk and complex conditions.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Shah is dedicated to medical education and mentorship. He is actively involved in training the next generation of surgeons through UTHealth Houston’s residency and fellowship programs. His commitment to academic medicine is reflected in his contributions to surgical education, program development, and research initiatives.

Dr. Shah has authored and co-authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals, presented at national and international conferences, and continues to advance the field through research and innovation in cardiovascular surgery.
