Visiting Residents
- Prospective residents/fellows seeking an elective rotation at McGovern Medical School, must complete and submit the application no less than eight weeks prior to intended start of rotation.
UTHealth welcomes visiting colleagues and students (minimum, 16 years old) from across the United States and around the world for research and educational collaboration, observation, and study through Observer/Trainee/Visiting Scientist (OTVS) opportunity. OTVS is available for visitors who are not compensated by UTHealth, and are not enrolled in UTHealth educational programs, but are granted access to university property, facilities, and/or information systems for a specific period for approved collaborative or educational purposes.

For those interested in OTVS with the Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery, please complete and submit the application. Once you have provided all necessary documents, and submitted the application, you will need a UTHealth login and password following the departmental approval. Please contact our office, once all aforementioned steps are complete: [email protected]. Please allow 4-6 weeks for the medical school to process your application before planning your visit.
