Biography

Dr. Vershel obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of Texas at Austin and then his medical degree from the McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston in 2020. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston) in 2023. Then, he received his rheumatology fellowship training at UTHealth Houston, which he completed in 2025. He is board-certified in internal medicine by the ABIM.

He joined UTHealth Houston faculty in the Division of Rheumatology in 2025 with specific interests in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) and co-directs the Lupus Clinic at the UT Physicians Professional Building. He also sees patients at the UT Physicians Bellaire clinic, with the goal of seeing a broad range of rheumatologic conditions. He provides inpatient consultation services at Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center.
