Dr. Jillian L. Smith attended Washington University in St. Louis, graduating summa cum laude with a BA in Biology: Neuroscience in 2012. She was admitted to the honors society Phi Beta Kappa. She completed medical school at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine in 2020 and completed a Certificate in Medical Education. She won the Marie Leebron Prize in Pediatrics on graduation. She completed Internal Medicine/Pediatrics residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston) in 2024 after serving her final year as Chief Resident. She was admitted to the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) honor society as a resident after her intern year for her clinical performance. She completed a combined Internal Medicine Residency Chief Residency year and Patient Safety/Quality Improvement Fellowship in 2025. She is now an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston) and serves as an Assistant Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency, as well as Core Faculty for Internal Medicine/Pediatrics. She works clinically in inpatient Hospital Medicine. Her passions are Quality Improvement and Clinical Informatics. She helps run the QI curriculum for both Internal Medicine and Internal Medicine/Pediatrics. She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
