Dr. Yin earned his MD degree in China, where he practiced cardiology for over ten years. He subsequently obtained his PhD in Europe, studying EGFR-independent signaling in vascular smooth muscle cells relevant to hypertensive patients with cancer. Following his doctoral training, he conducted postdoctoral research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH, USA), acquiring expertise in developmental biology and cardiovascular signaling. At the Texas Medical Center, he studied cardiac modulation through β-adrenergic receptor signaling and developed ultrasound-controlled liposomes for targeted delivery. At UT Dell Medical School, he applied CRISPR and bioinformatics to identify and manipulate disease-relevant genes in cancer models.
Currently at UTHealth Houston, his research focuses on two aspects: 1. Developing ultrasound-enhanced liposome systems to optimize drug delivery for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. 2. Engineering echogenic CRISPR Nano-platforms for the simultaneous delivery of multiple therapeutic agents.
