Biography

Dr. Xiangsheng Huang, PhD, is an assistant professor at UTHealth Houston with expertise in mucosal immunology, microbiome research, and translational gastrointestinal biology. His research program focuses on defining how gut microbes, immune pathways, circadian rhythms, and metabolic factors interact to influence intestinal homeostasis and disease. Using advanced experimental platforms including organoids, organ-on-chip models, and multi-omics analyses, his work seeks to identify novel therapeutic and biomarker targets for inflammatory and cancer-related diseases.
His academic training spans China, Germany, and the United States, providing a strong interdisciplinary foundation in biology, immunology, and translational biomedical research.
