Biography

Dr. Holt grew up in small town Kentucky and dreamed of being a large animal vet. College inspired her to pursue human medicine. She received her medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in Lexington, KY, and stayed on to complete her residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Gastroenterology at UK HealthCare. After joining private practice, Dr. Holt was recruited back to the University of Kentucky to strengthen the fellowship program and promote Women’s Health. During her tenure at UK, she rose to the rank of Associate Professorship, served as Associate GI Fellowship Program Director, and promoted patient safety and operational efficiency as the Medical Director of the Endoscopy Suite at UK Good Samaritan Hospital.

Dr. Holt came to Houston by way of Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio where she was part of a busy practice, and worked on improving practice standards and effectiveness.

Board-certified in gastroenterology, Dr. Holt has a wide clinical interest, including colon cancer screening and prevention, digestive health, irritable bowel syndrome, nutrition, and inflammatory bowel disease. She has a passion for mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows.

In her free time, Dr. Holt enjoys running, reading books, and spending time with her family.
