Biography

Dr. Putao Cen is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Oncology at The University of Texas Health Science Center (UTHealth) McGovern Medical School. She received her medical degree from Sun Yat-Sen University in Guang Dong, China, where she also completed at residency in Hematology/Oncology. She completed a residency in Internal Medicine at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital in New York City and a fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Cen has co-authored and reviewed several articles on gastroesophageal malignancies and presented her findings at medical conferences across the globe. She is a general oncologist with special interest in gastrointestinal malignancies, both colorectal and non-colorectal, and esophageal malignancies. Dr. Cen is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with subspecialty certification in Hematology and Medical Oncology. She also speaks fluent Mandarin and Cantonese.
