Services Offered
Our team of highly skilled physicians and allied healthcare professionals provides consultation and management in both the outpatient and inpatient settings at Memorial Hermann TMC, UTHealth, and LBJ Hospital/Outpatient Center.
We provide comprehensive care through collaboration with primary care and other specialists, which includes multidisciplinary meetings and tumor board conferences and coordination of care for the treatment of disorders such as sickle cell disease, platelet abnormalities, thrombosis, bleeding and clotting disorders, and others. Enrollment in clinical trials is reviewed with interested patients.
UT Physician Comprehensive Adult Sickle Cell Center:
At UT Physicians Comprehensive Adult Sickle Cell Center, we provide individuals with sickle cell disease and other hemoglobinopathies access to a multidisciplinary and coordinated team of knowledgeable providers at one location. Internists, genetic counselors, and multiple specialists (pain, pulmonary, cardiology, renal, infectious disease, OB/GYN) are available for consultation on site. At our Center, we have a dedicated team of health care personnel including sickle cell medical specialists (MD and APP), nursing staff, social worker, community health workers and other team members necessary to manage such complex chronic genetic condition which causes multiorgan dysfunction and failure. We have infusion suites for management of uncomplicated vaso-occlusive episodes. We also offer simple transfusion and apheresis (red blood exchange transfusion) program.
