Mrs. Shock has been working in higher education since 1996. She has many years of experience in business operations, human resources, budget development, budget forecasting and customer relations experience. Prior to joining the Department of Neurobiology and Anatomy she served as the Associate Director in the Graduate School at the University of Houston. As the Director of Management Operations for UT McGovern Medial School, Stephanie oversees the business activities in fiscal management, personnel management, space management, liaison activities, and strategic planning for future directions. Stephanie also supervises the Financial Administrative Team and Research and Academic Support Team.
Services provided by the Financial Administrative Team include: financial reporting; pre- and post-award contracts and grants management; capital assets and inventory control; personnel and payroll actions as well as purchasing and travel processing.
The Research and Academic Support Team provides assistance in the preparation of teaching and research materials and coordination of various programs critical to the mission of the Department. Programs included the Seminar and Colloquia Series, Graduate Education Program, Willed Body Program and Medical School Research Committee. In addition, staff assistance is provided to the faculty and course directors for teaching at the Dental School, Graduate School and Medical School.
