Biography

Dr. Gavvala received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. He completed his neurology residency and fellowship in clinical neurophysiology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Gavvala is currently an associate professor of neurology at McGovern Medical School and is a member of the Texas Comprehensive Epilepsy Program. He also serves as director of the Adult Magnetoencephalography Laboratory at Memorial Hermann Hospital. He has interests in treatment of drug resistant epilepsy, stereo-electroencephalography, critical care EEG, neuromodulation in epilepsy and magnetoencephalography.
