Aparajitha K. Verma, MD, is board certified in neurology, sleep medicine and clinical neurophysiology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr. Verma earned her medical degree at Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, and completed neurology residency training at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. She completed sleep medicine and clinical neurophysiology fellowships at McGovern Medical School and the executive MBA program at Jones School of Business at Rice University in Houston. She joins UTHealth Houston Neurosciences from private practice at Verma Sleep and Neurology in Houston and Houston Methodist Hospital, where she was an active staff member and an assistant professor in the Weill Cornell Medical College Department of Neurology.

Prior to that, she was the medical director of Houston Methodist Hospital Sleep Disorders Center and San Jacinto Houston Methodist Sleep Disorders Center. Dr. Verma has a passion for advancing health care, addressing unmet clinical needs, creating operational excellence and enhancing patient outcomes. She is an accomplished executive leader and healthcare provider.

Collaboration with Referring Physicians

Physicians at UTHealth Houston Neurosciences engage referring physicians in the care of their patients, keeping them informed about patient progress throughout the evaluation and treatment process. After a patient’s treatment, referring physicians receive a summary and a plan for follow-up. Our physicians encourage continued communication about each patient.
