Dr. Hammad Bokhari is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Neurology at the McGovern Medical School at University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth).
Dr. Bokhari is passionate about evaluating and managing patients with a multitude of neurological diseases and providing individualized treatment options. He stresses proper education and counseling for all his patients. He has an osteopathic background therefore evaluates each patient holistically providing the most comprehensive care.
Dr. Bokhari grew up in Detroit, Michigan to Pakistani immigrants. He graduated from Wayne State University with a major in Nutrition, went to LMU-DCOM osteopathic medical school in Tennessee, and completed a Neurology residency with a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at UTHealth. He is bilingual with his primary language in English and secondary in Urdu. His interests include sports (basketball, football, tennis, baseball), exercising and weight lifting, nutrition, foodie, comparative religion, traveling and art.
Collaboration with Referring Physicians
Physicians at UTHealth Houston Neurosciences engage referring physicians in the care of their patients, keeping them informed about patient progress throughout the evaluation and treatment process. After a patient’s treatment, referring physicians receive a summary and a plan for follow-up. Our physicians encourage continued communication about each patient.
