Biography

Aya Mohr-Sasson, MD, is a dedicated specialist who is passionate about helping women achieve optimal health and well-being. Her clinical interests include managing complex conditions such as abnormal uterine bleeding, PCOS, ovarian cysts, fibroids, endometriosis, and pelvic pain. She is skilled in advanced procedures such as laparoscopic and robotic surgery, hysteroscopy, uterine scar repair, and BRCA risk-reducing surgery and management. Mohr-Sasson also provides comprehensive care for contraception, menopause, and more.

Mohr-Sasson earned her medical degree in 2003 from the Sackler Medical School at Tel-Aviv University in Israel. She completed her residency at Sheba Medical Center and served on the faculty of the gynecology department there beginning in 2019. She also worked as a gynecology attending at the Meirav Center and BRCA clinics at Sheba Medical Center, where she specialized in the care of women at increased genetic risk for cancer.

In 2021, Mohr-Sasson joined UTHealth Houston as a faculty member, completing a fellowship in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery in 2022. She continues to serve as a valued faculty member at UTHealth Houston, providing state-of-the-art gynecologic care to her patients.

Mohr-Sasson is known for her warm, patient-centered approach, ensuring that every woman feels seen and receives individualized treatment tailored to her needs.

Outside of medicine, Mohr-Sasson is married to Guy and a devoted mother to four children. She shares her home with a dog, a cat, and a rabbit. A former choreographer, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and relaxing with a good movie.
