Sandra M. Hurtado, MD, FACOG, MSCP is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist affiliated with UT Physicians and McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. She earned her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Chicago Hospitals. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Hurtado brings over 30 years of clinical experience to her practice, specializing in comprehensive women’s health care including menopause management, preventive care, vulvar diseases, endometriosis and uterine fibroids.
She currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at McGovern Medical School, and Vice-Chair of Gynecologic Clinical Research. She has been an investigator in over 90 clinical trials focused on women’s health issues such as pharmacologic management of menopausal symptoms, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, contraception, and maternal immunization.
Dr. Hurtado is a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner through the Menopause Society and has a passion for caring for women in the menopause transition using both hormonal and non hormonal treatment options.
In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis or traveling with her husband and adult children
