Adekorewale Odulate-Williams, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, the Division of Urogynecology, and a urogynecologist with UT Physicians. He specializes in Urogynecology & Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery, providing comprehensive care for women with pelvic floor disorders, including urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, overactive bladder, recurrent urinary tract infections, and other conditions that can significantly affect quality of life.
Dr. Odulate-Williams is dedicated to helping women regain confidence, comfort, and function through individualized treatment plans that incorporate both nonsurgical and minimally invasive surgical approaches. He believes in partnering with patients to understand their goals and develop treatment strategies tailored to their unique needs and lifestyle.
He earned his medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York, and completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, where he served as Administrative Chief Resident. He then completed advanced fellowship training in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Southern California, serving as Administrative Chief Fellow.
Throughout his training, Dr. Odulate-Williams received numerous honors recognizing his clinical and surgical excellence, including awards for Excellence in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery, Excellence in Laparoscopic Surgery, and Recognition of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology. He also received the Outstanding Resident in Gynecologic Oncology Award and multiple resident achievement awards during his training at UTHealth Houston.
In addition to his clinical practice, he is actively involved in research focused on improving outcomes for women with pelvic floor disorders. His research interests include lower urinary tract symptoms, pelvic reconstructive surgery and surgical innovation in urogynecology. His work has explored the association between uterine fibroids and lower urinary tract symptoms, surgical outcomes following pelvic organ prolapse repair and techniques to reduce bladder injury during midurethral sling procedures. He has presented research at national meetings, including the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Dr. Odulate-Williams has also contributed to peer-reviewed publications and medical education resources, including published research in Urogynecology examining a novel technique to prevent bladder injury during retropubic midurethral sling surgery and co-authoring the menopause chapter in Case Files, 6th Edition.
