UTHealth Women’s Research Program – Memorial City is a research study site, led by Dr. Sandra Hurtado. Dr. Hurtado is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist, with over 25 years of combined research and women’s health care experience. She leads the team as the Principal Investigator within the clinical trials.

Sandra M. Hurtado, MD

Sandra M. Hurtado, MD, FACOG, MSCP is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist affiliated with UT Physicians and McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. She earned her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Chicago Hospitals. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Hurtado brings over 30 years of clinical experience to her practice, specializing in comprehensive women’s health care including menopause management, preventive care, vulvar diseases, endometriosis and uterine fibroids.
She currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at McGovern Medical School, and Vice-Chair of Gynecologic Clinical Research. She has been an investigator in over 90 clinical trials focused on women’s health issues such as pharmacologic management of menopausal symptoms, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, contraception, and maternal immunization.
Dr. Hurtado is a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner through the Menopause Society and has a passion for caring for women in the menopause transition using both hormonal and non hormonal treatment options.
In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis or traveling with her husband and adult children
Lori Wink, NP

Lori L. Wink, MS, RNC, WHNP-BC, MSCP is a board-certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner with over 24 years of clinical experience in obstetrics and gynecology. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Illinois at Chicago and holds national certification through the National Certification Corporation. She holds an additional certification as a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner
Lori currently practices at the UTPhysicians Women’s Center II – Memorial City, where she provides comprehensive care to adult women, including preventive health services, reproductive care, and menopause management. She has a special interest in menopause management using both hormonal and non-hormonal approaches. In addition to her clinical role, she serves as the Clinical Research Manager for the UTHealth Women’s Research Program, supporting clinical trials focused on women’s health issues such as pharmacologic management of menopausal symptoms, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, and maternal immunization.
When not at work, Lori enjoys camping with her husband, Tom and their 3 children.
