Grand Rounds
Grand Rounds are currently held on the first Friday morning of each month from 7:30 a.m.– 9 p.m. CST in conjunction with Baylor College of medicine and the Houston Ophthalmological Society. The format of Grand Rounds is the presentation of interesting, rare, and challenging cases by the residents with expert feedback from a visiting lecturer to the Houston Ophthalmological Society who is a nationally known expert in their field. These presentations foster informative discussions with the faculty, residents, and guests. Houston area ophthalmologists and physicians are welcome and encouraged to attend Grand Rounds, which are held from September through May.
Departmental Case Conferences are held on Friday mornings from 7:30-8:30 a.m. CST virtually. The format of Grand Rounds is the presentation of interesting and challenging cases by the residents with expert feedback from our own departmental specialists. These presentations foster informative discussions with the faculty, residents, and guests and provide updates on the latest from the literature in patient care and the basic science of disease. Additionally, the conferences are often joined by UT Houston subject matter experts in other fields such as Neuropathology and Neuroradiology. Houston area ophthalmologist, physicians, and medical students are welcome and encouraged to attend Case Conference.
