Biography

Alison Shellman, PhD, is a pediatric health psychologist and director of the Pediatric Psychology Program at both Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital and in the Department of Pediatrics at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. Her clinical practice centers on delivering evidence-based, family-centered psychological care to hospitalized children, adolescents, and their caregivers, particularly those navigating acute and chronic medical conditions.

Dr. Shellman is actively engaged in graduate medical education for residents and fellows as well as simulation-based training focused on psychosocial complexity in the medical setting. She also contributes to multiple institutional quality and safety initiatives, including system-wide suicide prevention efforts.
