Biography

Jean H. Hsu, DO, FAAP, is a board-certified physician specializing in pediatric hospital medicine. She currently serves as a pediatric hospitalist at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital and Memorial Hermann–Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas, providing comprehensive inpatient care to children with a diverse array of acute, chronic, and medically complex conditions. Dr. Hsu is committed to delivering evidence-based, family-centered care and collaborates closely with interdisciplinary teams to support her young patients and their families.

Dr. Hsu earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, then completed her pediatric residency at Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell at Cohen Children’s Medical Center. She is board-certified in pediatrics and pediatric hospital medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Dr. Hsu’s clinical interests include mentorship of medical trainees, quality improvement (QI) in the hospital setting, and promoting cost-conscious, patient-centered pediatric care. As part of UTHealth Houston’s pediatric hospital medicine core faculty since the fellowship’s inception, she plays a key role in supervising residents and fellows and leading clinical teaching sessions.

In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Hsu is deeply invested in medical education. She serves as a mentor to pediatric residents and fellows, helping guide scholarly and QI projects. Her contributions to developing educational curricula and fostering clinical excellence reflect her dedication to shaping future pediatric hospitalists.
