Biography

Paul Hillman, MD, PhD, FABMGG, is a board-certified physician in clinical genetics and genomics with specialized expertise in medical biochemical genetics. He earned his MD/PhD from Texas A&M University College of Medicine in 2015 and completed a combined residency in Pediatrics and Medical Genetics at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston (2015–2019). He also completed a fellowship in medical biochemical genetics at the same institution (2023–2025).

Dr. Hillman’s clinical and research interests center on lysosomal storage disorders, inborn errors of metabolism, and imprinting disorders. He serves as director of the Lysosomal Storage Disorders Clinic and is a leader in medical education at McGovern Medical School, where he was named an Esteemed Educator in 2025.

An active mentor and program leader, Dr. Hillman served as assistant program director (2022–2025) and now holds the position of program director (2025–present) for the Combined Pediatrics and Medical Genetics Residency at McGovern Medical School.
