Shivani Briggs, MD, FAAP, is a double board-certified physician specializing in pediatric hospital medicine. She currently serves as an Associate Program Director for the Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship at McGovern Medical School, where she practices as a pediatric hospitalist, providing comprehensive inpatient care to children with a wide spectrum of acute and chronic medical conditions. Dr. Briggs is committed to delivering evidence-based, family-centered care and collaborates closely with interdisciplinary teams to support her young patients and their families.
She earned her Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree at Texas A&M Health Science Center School of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency and Pediatric Hospital Medicine fellowship at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. As part of the Pediatric Hospital Medicine Division, she actively participates in clinical care at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital and Memorial Hermann–Texas Medical Center. Her clinical interests include quality improvement in inpatient pediatrics, development of fellowship-level medical education, and leading systems-based enhancements in hospital care delivery. As Associate Program Director, Dr. Briggs mentors fellows in scholarly activity, fosters skill development in clinical teaching, and guides projects focused on improving patient safety and care efficiency.
In addition to her clinical and educational duties, Dr. Briggs is a dedicated mentor to pediatric residents, medical students, and fellows. Through her leadership in fellowship programming and hands-on clinical supervision, she is deeply invested in shaping the next generation of hospitalists and advancing pediatric inpatient care through collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
