Ana Lucia Vasquez Choy, MD, is an assistant professor of pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. She specializes in advanced non-invasive cardiac imaging, including echocardiography, cardiac CT, and cardiac MRI, and provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care through the Children’s Heart Institute.
Dr. Vasquez Choy completed her medical degree at Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Peru, followed by pediatric residency, pediatric cardiology fellowship, and an advanced imaging fellowship at UTHealth Houston. She plays an active role in the Single Ventricle Home Monitoring Program, multidisciplinary cardiovascular imaging reviews, and imaging support for surgical and interventional planning.
A dedicated educator, she leads journal clubs, echocardiography teaching sessions, and pediatric cardiology didactics for fellows and residents. She also mentors trainees on clinical research, imaging methodology, and manuscript development. Her scholarly work includes peer-reviewed publications, national and international presentations, and textbook chapters focused on congenital heart disease and cardiovascular imaging.
Dr. Vasquez Choy is a reviewer for multiple scientific journals and an active member of professional societies including Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance, Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, American College of Cardiology, and American Society of Echo Cardiography. She is committed to advancing imaging excellence and improving outcomes for children with congenital and acquired heart conditions.
