Biography

Whitney A. Rome, MD, MPH, FAAP, is a board-certified pediatric hospitalist with dual training in public health. She practices as an assistant professor in the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, providing inpatient care at TIRR Memorial Hermann. Dr. Rome delivers comprehensive, evidence-based, family-centered care.

She earned her Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and her Master of Public Health (MPH) at UTHealth Houston. She finished her pediatrics residency at UTHealth Houston in 2018 and became board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics soon thereafter. She attained board certification in Pediatric Hospital Medicine in 2024.

Dr. Rome’s clinical interests span global health, quality improvement, and family-focused rehabilitation. She has been active in resident global health education. In her academic role, Dr. Rome also supervises fellows in Pediatric Hospital Medicine at TIRR Memorial Hermann.
