The Department of Pediatrics Team is frequently called upon to share insight and expertise with the community through various media platforms. Here are the media highlights from last month:

• Michelle Ruda, MD (Director, Child Safety & Integrated Care Division), spoke to KPRC Channel 2 (external link) about how to have a safe Halloween. Dr. Ruda was also quoted on the 6am broadcast (external link).

• Michael Chang, MD (Associate Professor, Infectious Diseases Division), featured in story from Verywell Health (external link): Walking Pneumonia Cases are Spiking: How to Spot the Symptoms. Article also picked up by MSN.com (external link).
• Misti Ellsworth, MD (Associate Professor, Infectious Diseases Division), featured on UTHealth Houston Facebook (external link) post for her role as co-editor for Infection Prevention in the Intensive Care Setting
• Angie Curtis, MD, CAQSM (Assistant Professor, Community & General Pediatrics Division), interviewed on KHOU Channel 11 (external link) Health Matters segment.
• Tricia Zucker, PhD (Professor, Developmental Pediatrics/Children’s Learning Institute), was featured on the latest episode of PBS’ A World of Difference: Embracing Neurodiversity (external link). Dr. Zucker participated in a national panel of experts that discussed the signs, challenges, and solutions for managing language-based learning disabilities.
