Zackary Brown, MD, is a pediatrician who currently serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. Dr. Brown emphasizes a holistic approach to pediatric care with an emphasis on preventive care, while intertwining his passion for educating the next generation of leaders and promoting health equity.
Dr. Brown is the first person in his family to graduate high school. He went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree with a double major in Neuroscience and Health Sociology at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. He continued his pursuit in medicine at Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C., where he received his Doctor of Medicine. He then completed his residency in pediatrics at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, NY.
Dr. Brown is passionate about advancing equity, mentorship, and pediatric care. He is a strong advocate for improving access to quality health care for pediatric patients, a prominent leader within his community, and has served on national initiatives with the AAMC and NMA to promote health equity. Through his mentorship, he is actively involved in teaching all learners throughout the medical education continuum and continues to give back to his community through his extensive community service work.
As a published author, advocate, community servant, and educator, Dr. Brown strives to provide the most comprehensive care to all his pediatric patients while continuing to promote health equity at the forefront. His passion for primary care pediatrics is evident in his patient interactions and eagerness to shape the learning of future pediatric leaders.
