John H. Giang, MD, is an assistant professor of child neurology at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. Dr. Giang is a board-certified neurologist with special qualification in child neurology and fellowship training in pediatric epilepsy. He earned his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine and completed his child neurology residency at UTHealth Houston, where he served as chief resident. He then completed his pediatric epilepsy fellowship at UTHealth Houston, where he also served as a chief fellow. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from UCLA.
Dr. Giang’s clinical and research interests include medically refractory epilepsy, intracranial electroencephalogram (EEG), and neuromodulation. He has led quality-improvement initiatives in epilepsy education and has presented extensively on topics such as seizure semiology, status epilepticus, and pediatric headache management. He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, inducted into the Delta Chapter in 2024, and an active member of the American Epilepsy Society, American Academy of Neurology, Child Neurology Society, and American Clinical Neurophysiology Society.
