Pediatric Workforce Initiative hosts program mixer

On Wednesday, Sept. 24, pediatric programs from across Houston came together to host a mixer for medical students interested in pediatrics. Program leaders from McGovern Medical School, Baylor College of Medicine, University of Houston, and Texas A&M University gathered at BCM for networking and led a panel discussion to answer questions from learners.Clerkship Directors Veronica Gonzalez, MD, and Amalia Guardiola, MD, helped plan and represented our Department at the event, which came about because of the Pediatric Workforce Initiative.

Department-Wide Morning Report gains momentum

The Department-Wide Morning Reports resumed Friday, Sept. 5, after a 14-year hiatus and have been growing each week. Many thanks to those who’ve made it a part of their Friday. Our trainees benefit immensely from this level of collaboration and clinical learning. Join us Fridays at 8 a.m. in the Hermann Conference Center. Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics Division makes a big impression

Congratulations to Division Chief Gabriel Anzueto, MD, and his team for putting in the legwork to curate informative content for promotion.

In the spirit for Childhood Cancer Awareness

September was Childhood Cancer Awareness month, and the Pediatric Hospital Medicine team made it extra special with a spirit week, each day with a different theme. Special thanks to these faculty for going above and beyond to support their patients and spread joy, one pirouette at a time.
