The Department of Pediatrics frequently receives requests to share expertise through both internal and external media, as listed above. Additionally, our faculty, staff physicians, advanced practice providers, and classified staff go beyond the medical school for trainings and events that support the mission of McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. It is exciting to share our enthusiasm for this important work with our community in a variety of ways.
Angie Curtis, MD, CAQSM, volunteered to give medical screenings at the Day of Dancer Health (external link) event put on by Dance Source Houston in partnership with Memorial Hermann and others.
The Department of Pediatrics admin team led the McGovern Medical school group at the Heart Walk event to promote heart health.
Several pedi admin team participated in the recent Embark Leadership Training held by the UTHealth Houston Learning Lab (external link) in February. The day featured engaging presentations from leaders across the university including Associate Vice President of Marketing and Communication Courtenay Siegfried (pictured above on right) and Department of Pediatrics Director of Management Operations Joanie Hernandez, MPH (left).
