Biography

Rachel Jalfon, DO, MS, FAAP, is an assistant professor in the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. She provides compassionate, evidence-based care for hospitalized children and is committed to partnering with patients and families to deliver high-quality, family-centered care.

Dr. Jalfon earned her medical degree from Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine at New Mexico State University and completed her pediatric residency training at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. She then completed her pediatric hospice and palliative fellowship at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN. She has a strong commitment to academic medicine and is dedicated to advancing pediatric care through excellence in clinical practice, education, and scholarship.

Dr. Jalfon’s academic and professional interests include bioethics, chronic diseases, palliative and hospital medicine, quality improvement, and medical education. She is passionate about mentoring medical students and residents while contributing to initiatives that enhance patient safety, improve the quality of care for hospitalized children, and promote positive health outcomes for children and their families.
