Destiny Uwaezuoke, MD

Biography

Destiny Uwaezuoke, MD, is an assistant professor of hematology in the Department of Pediatrics. Her clinical and educational expertise includes pediatric bleeding disorders, thromboembolism, sickle cell disease, and other benign hematologic conditions. She is committed to compassionate, patient-centered care and values interdisciplinary collaboration in the care of children and their families.

Dr. Uwaezuoke completed her fellowship in hematology/oncology at The University of Texas Southwestern and Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, where she served as chief fellow. She completed her residency in general pediatrics at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston and Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital. She earned her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine, and she holds a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Houston.

Dr. Uwaezuoke has published and presented multiple works in the field of hematology, and she has collaborated with other faculty and fellows to develop quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care.
