Biography

Sara Pickett, MS, CGC, is a board-certified genetic counselor. She earned her Master of Science in Genetic Counseling from The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center UTHealth Houston Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences in May 2026. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Tennessee Technological University.

Sara has experience in clinical and translational research, with expertise in inborn errors of metabolism and mitochondrial disease. She is committed to patient-centered care and advancing rare disease research. Through advocacy and outreach, she works to raise awareness, expand access to genetic counseling services, and strengthen connections between patients and providers.

Sara provides genetic counseling services in both clinical and research settings at the Center for the Treatment of Pediatric Neurologic and Neurodegenerative Disease (CTPND).
