Research Interests

Susan H. Wootton, MD is currently a professor in pediatric infectious diseases at UTHealth and member of the Center for Clinical Research and Evidence Based Medicine (CCREBM).  Her current research interests include the promotion of vaccination delivery among high-risk patients, implementation of a learning healthcare system (specifically the promotion of comparative effectiveness research, use of innovative trial designs and reduction of regulatory burdens), and the advance training of clinical investigators within the Clinical Research Curriculum and MS program.  She currently serves on the board for the Texas Pediatric Society (east chair) and The Immunization Partnership, a non-profit organization dedicated to eradicating vaccine-preventable diseases by educating the community, advocating for evidence-based public policy and supporting immunization best practices.
