Susan H. Wootton, MD, is a Professor in Pediatric Infectious Diseases, faculty member of the Institute for Clinical Research and Learning Health Care at McGovern Medical School, and Vice President of the Human Research Protections Program at UTHealth Houston. Her current research focuses on improving vaccination delivery among high-risk patients, advancing learning health care systems through innovative trial designs, and reducing the regulatory burden of clinical research. In addition, she is a member of the scientific advisory committee of The Immunization Partnership, a nonprofit dedicated to eradicating vaccine-preventable diseases through community education, advocacy, and support of immunization best practices.
