Biography

Elaine Magat, M.D., joined the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at McGovern Medical School and TIRR Memorial Hermann from the Department of PM&R at Scott and White Healthcare in Temple, Texas, and from Scott and White’s Center for Rehabilitative Medicine in Waco, Texas, where she was assistant medical director.

Education

After receiving her medical degree at the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery in Manila, Philippines, she completed two physical medicine and rehabilitation residencies – one at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center in Quezon City, Philippines, in 2003, where she was chief resident, and the second at the Baylor/UTHealth PM&R Alliance in 2010.

Dr. Magat completed her fellowship in brain injury rehabilitation and tone management at the Alliance in 2011. A clinical assistant professor of PM&R at McGovern Medical School and a diplomate of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Dr. Magat works at  TIRR Memorial Hermann Outpatient Medical Clinic.

She is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and board certified in Brain Injury Medicine in 2014.
