Biography

Maryam Sultan, M.D., a Clinical Assistant Professor at McGovern Medical School, received her medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, New York in 2014. She completed her internship in internal medicine at New York Presbyterian Queens Hospital in Flushing, New York in 2015. She then completed her residency in the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas in 2018.

Following completion of her residency training, Dr. Sultan began providing physiatry consultation services within post-acute facilities in Southeast Houston before joining the faculty of McGovern Medical School at UTHealth in December 2018. Her passion lies in the field of pelvic floor muscle dysfunction/women’s health rehabilitation, whose patients she treats in a dedicated UT Physicians outpatient practice.

Dr. Sultan is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R) and is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
