The Office of Professionalism is committed to inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals by providing meaningful opportunities for students to explore careers in medicine and the health sciences. Through our pathway programs, participants gain hands-on experiences, mentorship, and exposure to healthcare professions while developing the knowledge, skills, and confidence to pursue their future goals. Whether students are just beginning to explore healthcare or are ready for a more immersive experience, our programs create pathways to success through learning, service, and professional development. Emerging Health Professions (EHP) Program
The Emerging Health Professions (EHP) program introduces high school students to the wide range of careers available in healthcare through engaging, hands-on learning experiences. This full-day program provides participants with an inside look at the journey to a career in medicine and the health sciences through interactive sessions, professional development, and meaningful connections with healthcare professionals. Students receive information about the admissions process, meet with admissions representatives, and have the opportunity to ask questions during a panel with current medical students. EHP is designed to inspire students as they begin exploring their future in healthcare.

- Airway intubation workshops
- Suturing skills workshop
- School tours
- Student panels
- And more!

Healthcare Exploration and Learning (HEAL) Program
The Healthcare Exploration and Learning program is designed to foster mentorship and encourage first-generation high school students to consider healthcare careers. Throughout the year, McGovern Medical School students host monthly sessions at their respective schools. These sessions cover a wide range of topics, from medical specialties to healthcare pathways. The purpose is to expose high school students to various health professions, diseases/disorders, public health issues, etc. The program is designed to bring life to the possibilities of further studies and careers in medicine and the allied health sciences.

- Career exploration activities
