Biography

After completing his undergraduate degree in biomedical sciences at the University of Oklahoma, Dr. Hall attended medical school at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City. He went on to general surgery residency at East Tennessee State University, and moved to Memphis, Tennessee, for fellowship training in abdominal solid organ transplantation and hepatobiliary surgery at the renowned James D. Eason Transplant Institute.

Dr. Hall specializes in surgery of the liver, bile ducts, and pancreas. His clinical interests included robotic-assisted hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, gallbladder cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, and management of hepatic colorectal carcinoma metastasis. Dr. Hall has performed hundreds of complex hepatobiliary and transplant surgery procedures since joining the faculty at UTHealth in 2015. He is passionate about utilizing robotic techniques to perform complex operations via a minimally invasive approach.

Dr. Hall is an associate professor of surgery, an award-winning medical educator, and an associate program director for the general surgery residency at UTHealth Houston. He serves on multiple McGovern Medical School and Memorial Hermann Hospital committees and is a sought-after lecturer for medical students, residents, and fellows. He is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American College of Surgeons, the Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association, and the American Society of Transplant Surgeons. He and his wife, Lauren, have three children. His personal interests include golf, endurance sports, church activities, and global health.
